The WISER System
What Is It?
WISER is a real-time location system (RTLS) built on ultra-wideband (UWB) radio. It works much like an active RFID system: battery-powered tags transmit on their own, so assets are located continuously with no hand scans or portal reads. But where active RFID typically offers only room-level accuracy, WISER’s UWB solution locates every tagged item with sub-meter accuracy.
The WISER system was purposely built to operate in messy real-world environments, even through walls and obstacles, with low power requirements and battery life measured in years. It’s an indoor positioning system that works where GPS can’t reach and Wi-Fi or Bluetooth isn’t precise enough.
How WISER Helps
When tooling goes missing, work orders stall, or compliance deadlines loom, the costs pile up fast, in dollars and, more importantly, in customer trust. WISER’s real-time location intelligence shows you where things are and how long they’ve been there:
- Equipment tracking: find gauges, fixtures, tooling and test equipment without searching the floor.
- WIP tracking: see where every work order is and how long it sat at each station, so bottlenecks show up before problems arise.
- Critical assets and compliance: keep a location history for controlled items and get alerts when an item moves where it shouldn’t.
The result? Fewer surprises, faster resolutions, and a smoother operation from end to end.
How Does It Work?
Our ultra-wideband (UWB) antennas and tags synchronize with each other and create a wireless mesh.
WISER’s server software uses the UWB signals to calculate each tag’s coordinates precisely, even in metal-heavy facilities, and overlays them live on your site map or floor plan. For RFID localization, that means exact positions instead of zones.
No line-of-sight is needed, and a single site can run tens of thousands of tags.
Real-time data can also be integrated into software systems using WISER’s API or into virtually any database using WISER’s direct-to-database linkup feature.
